Enter your CTC and increment to see the breakdown

Your hike increases your CTC — but a higher CTC means higher tax. Use the CTC Calculator to see your new in-hand salary after the raise. Also check if your increment pushes you into a new income tax slab for FY 2025-26.

How the Increment Calculator Works

Instantly calculate your new CTC and in-hand salary after your annual hike.

1

Enter Current CTC

Input your existing annual CTC as shown in your current offer letter or salary slip.

2

Enter Hike Percentage

Type your increment percentage — for example 15% for a 15% hike. Or enter the new CTC directly if you know it.

3

See New Salary Details

The calculator shows your new annual CTC, new monthly in-hand salary, and the absolute increase in take-home — ready to compare with your expectations.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a good salary hike in India?
A typical salary increment in India ranges from 8-12% for an average performer, 15-20% for a good performer, and 25-40%+ for exceptional performers or promotions. Industry matters too — IT, BFSI, and startups often give higher hikes than manufacturing or government-linked roles.
How do I calculate the percentage hike from old to new CTC?
Hike % = ((New CTC - Old CTC) / Old CTC) × 100. For example, if your CTC goes from ₹8 LPA to ₹9.6 LPA, the hike is ((9.6-8)/8) × 100 = 20%.
Why does a 20% hike not mean 20% more in-hand salary?
A higher CTC pushes you into higher income tax slabs, so the incremental income is taxed more. A ₹2 LPA increase might add only ₹1.2-1.5 LPA to your in-hand due to the 20-30% tax bracket. This is why in-hand increment is always less than CTC increment percentage.
Is the Government increment calculator different?
For Central Government (CG) employees, salary increment is calculated at 3% of the Basic Pay as per the 7th Pay Commission. Use the Govt Increment tab to compute this — it works differently from private sector percentage hikes.
How do I negotiate a better hike?
Research market salaries using Glassdoor, AmbitionBox, or LinkedIn Salary Insights. Come prepared with data: your achievements, team impact, and competing offers. A counteroffer with specific numbers is far more effective than a vague 'I want more' request.
